Our mission

The focus of the project is to get things done and to initiate, accompany and implement projects. The aim is to rethink (old) challenges, problems and solutions.

// We want to connect mobility actors with each other.

// We want to promote exchange in public workshops and through different formats.

// We want to offer a platform for a mobility community to learn from each other and shape mobility together.

Let's get moving!

Topic workshops

The format

We will use various creative methods to get to the bottom of mobility in different group constellations. No prior knowledge is necessary, because it's all about your (expert) input. In three hours we will get down to work and collect & classify mobility challenges that form the basis for the further development of concepts and projects. We want to see results and not just think about them - we want to get things rolling with you. Be there & let's get moving!

#1 Mobility for everyone - Shaping Mobility for everyone

21 april 2022 | 5-8 PM
Legienstraße 40, Kiel

Target groups

Everyone is welcome!

What to expect

We look at challenges from different types of transport for different populations and uncover difficulties that may have previously fallen off the grid.

Together with you, we want to break down the boundaries of mobility and think about old solutions in a new, up-to-date and diverse way - holistically. New work, a pandemic and cultural change have changed the structures of society and new challenges have arisen, and some mobility solutions no longer fit the changing needs of many people.

Whether you are an international, a senior citizen, a person with a disability, a mother of a family, a country dweller, a student or a commuter. Join us and share your personal mobility challenge and needs. Let's get moving!

#2 Mobility for you - Usability and user-friendliness

Target Groups

Everyone is welcome!

What to expect

We go one step further and look at the mobility solutions already implemented. What at first appears to be a solution can often fail in reality due to different needs and user interests.

You "move" a family and experience new mobility challenges every day? Ever heard of "female mobility"? Do you have no access to mobility because you live in the countryside? Or do you only understand stationary when you want to rent an e-scooter?

What are the challenges for the usability of mobility services for different population groups? What about user friendliness? We look at technological challenges of mobile apps, target group specific challenges and their user friendliness and possibly even uncover pseudo-solutions.

Whether you are a UX designer or a passionate pedestrian, a mother of a family, an international or a senior - join us and share your personal challenge with (technological) "pseudo-solutions". Let's get moving!

What is a hackathon?
A hackathon actually comes from software development and colloquially comes closest to an intensive brainstorming session. In the mobility hackathon, the aim is to develop concepts and solutions in a circle of experts from various fields. The concepts developed during the 1.5 days can range from mobile applications to products to initiatives - the main thing is to come up with innovative solutions that can be applied. At the Hackathon Mobility, teams will work on concrete challenges. At the end of the intensive 1.5 days, concepts and use cases will be pitched at the Waterkant Festival.

Become part of the community! Are you already one step further and have you already created a concept (in the form of a thesis, term paper, survey, etc.)?

// People interested in mobility

From the idea to the prototype in one week. You don't need any previous experience. Curiosity and playfulness are enough!

This year there will be a Mobility Challenge during the Prototyping Week. The teams work on their ideas or projects or #mobilitychallenges set by us and develop a prototype. At the end of the weekend, the teams pitch their prototype during Kiel Digital Week 2022 on September 11. There is the possibility to participate as a team with an existing project, as an individual or as a team without a project.

People interested in mobility from different field

At the Mobility Jam, we will present various fields of action for Smart Mobility in the KielRegion, in which you can become active directly on site. The goal is to develop solutions for challenges that can be implemented in prototypes, e.g. during the Prototyping Week.

What is going to happen at the MobilityJam?

In three drop-in sessions, you'll get exciting input on on-demand transport, learn about the open source community project Region Dashboard, and get a hands-on look at the digital nervous system of our local bikesharing system during Sprottenflotten-Monitoring. Along the way, we'll present various #MobilityChallenges and ideas that you can also take with you into Prototyping Week (September 5-9).

You up for brainstorming?
